Setting up Outlook as default email programme

Am currently running Outlook express and wish to switch to
Microsoft Outlook. How is this done?
 
Install Outlook/Office if you haven't done so already, and then in control
panel, internet options, programs, set Outlook as default mail program.
 
I tried doing this - going to Internet Options, then to Programs. I am not given Outlook as an e-mail choice - just MSN, Yahoo, Outlook Express and Hotmail. Help????

Are you sure Outlook is installed? Can you open it manually and set up your
mail account in there?
