I tried to set up newsgroups in the go menu and finally figured out how to
do it. I opened the newsgroups once, and when I closed it, I tried to open
it again and it was gone from the "Go" menu. What I would like to do is have
the newsgroups folder in mail pane as it is in OE. How do I do that?

You don't. Outlook uses OE for newsreading.

OK how do I access the newsgroups in Outlook rather than having to open OE
to see/use the newsgroups?

As I said - you don't. Outlook uses OE for newsreading. UNLESS you
connect to exchange Server, when the Admin can use Public Folders to
contain Newsgroups. That is the only way Outlook can natively "read"
newsgroups. there are third-party add-ins that will do what you want. Do
a Google search.

There are a few add-ins that add News ability to Outlook.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |

Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If

OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch

it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No

button.

Click on View > Toolbars > Customize

Click on the "Commands" tab

Under "Categories," click "Go"

Scroll down to see "News"

Click on News and drag it up to your toolbar
