Setting up a VNC connection between two computers ???

Hello all,

I'm running XP home on two computers (miles away from each other) and both
are connected to the internet through DSL (with dynamic IP addresses).

I decided to give tight VNC a try to gain access from home to my other
computer (in my office across town). I downloaded tightvnc, but have no idea
how to actually setup the connection. I can't seem to find any initial set
up information on the site and not sure where to start.

I know I'll need to include the IP addresses, but how would I do that with
both computers having dynamic IP addresses (they change each time I start up
the computer)?

Is there any information on the web (or anywhere) any of you know about,
that will help with the steps to set up this connection?

Thanks in advance for any help...

(PS: I need to have access to my work computer from home to check work
email, run programs, and view folders)

Here is a good guide on how to configure and use VNC:

As for the IP Addresses, consider using a dynamic DNS service
(something like http://www.dyndns.org or http://www.noip.com) with a
dynamic DNS client that will allow you to use a virtual domain name
(i.e., rball.dyndns.org) to connect to your machine remotely.
