I don't know, but would suggest you make your changes by creating a style
that has the tab settings you want and applying that style to the paragraphs
where you want them.

ok this is fine for a fix, but doesn't answer the question. Now another
question. In earlier versions of word, one could make chages to a styled
paragraph and then reapply the style at which time one would be asked if they
wanted to revert to the previously defined style or set the new setting into
the style. This no longer happens. does one have to create a new style to
replace the other?
Also, I have 23 pgs of info, each line of which must have a tab mark
inserted, what is the best way to do this. I tried using the alt key and
highlight the begining of each entry but it wont allow me to make a multiple
insertion.
