Setting default to Imap Folder

My boss uses an IMAP account in Outlook. I would like to have this folder
set as the default upon starting outlook, but only the standard local
folders (i.e. inbox, calander, etc) are available as options under
Options/Other/Advanced Options/Startup in this folder.

Is there a way to set the imap account folder as the startup?
 
The ability to do this was added in Outlook 2003, but is not available in
earlier versions.
