Hello all,

I'm using Outlook 2007 with a shared inbox that others are using with
Outlook 2003. I can set categories (the colored boxes/circles) in the shared
inbox. However, the change in color/category does not show up for others
using the shared inbox in '03. I've tried working through this with our IT
department and my colleagues and no one can figure it out. Is this an issue
between '03 and '07 that can't be fixed? I'm pretty sure it's not a user
access issue, because I can do every other task in the shared inbox (i.e.
send and receive emails).
Thank you for any help.

Colors are local to each PC. In Outlook 2003, colors were implemented with
labels. In Outlook 2007, colors are implemented via categories. Completely
different coloring mechanism.

Thanks for the response;
In other words, there is no way I can categorize emails in '07 so that other
individuals using the shared inbox in '03 can view how/where I categorized
the emails? They would have to have '07 to see my changes, but I can still
see their changes from '03.... seems like that's a compatibility issue that
is detrimental to '07 users....

The others should see your categories, they just can't see your colors.
