Anyone know where the setting (parameter) resides that
determines the default location for images saved in
MSPaint? I'm guessing it's one of the myriad .ini files,
but damned if I know which one...

Whenever I go to save an image edited with MSPaint,
the 'save as' default location is "my pictures", which
means I have to either click on one of the locating
buttons to the left of the 'save as' dialog, or repeatedly
navigate to the graphics folder where I actually want to
save the edited image.

Can anyone help?

Here you go!

In the registry, go to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Look for this String Value:

"My Pictures"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\USERSPROFILE\\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxxxxxx"

Just change the location there.

Next, I'm trying to change the default "Save As Type" to be jpg....
