Set up XP Home Network, now Spoolsv.exe uses 99% CPU

My printer is connected to my XP computer. When I used
the XP CD to set up the Home network, my print service
went wild. It uses 99% of my CPU, and I cannot perform
any other functions without first killing SPOOLSV.EXE.
Of course, printing by either computer is not possible
(the other computer is Windows 98).

How do I reinstall/reinitialize this service?

Hi, Jeff -

I have two ideas - one of them might work ;)

First, check to make sure there aren't any documents in
the print queue that shouldn't be there - head out to
Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes and double-click the
printer. Delete any print jobs that are stuck in the
queue.

Another idea - if this is an Epson printer a few people
have had pretty good success solving the 100% spoolsv
thing by unstalling the printer and all software
associated with the printer, and then reinstalling all
the printer stuff. I don't know exactly what gets
corrupted but if you own an Epson printer it's worth a
try.

Maybe others will have more ideas - hope this helps.
