How do I restore IE as default browser? "Internet Explorer should check..."
has been checked in Programs of Internet Options. However, it didn't prompt
for setting default browser at the time of launching IE. Is there something
wrong? I'm using IE6 on XP Pro SP2. Thanks.

Charles,

Use the "Set Program Access and Defaults" option in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

FYI:
Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser - option does not work:

Uncheck the option - providing you're not using another Browser.
Nothing really "abnormal" with that option being checked.

YW Charles. BTW, which of the two methods you've tried?
