set association control panel

i have an advent laptop and When i put my camera memory card in to the memory
card slot on my laptop it doesnt work now. the error message is: This file
does n ot have a programe associated with it for performing this action and
to create an association in set assocation control panel. How do you do this?
It has worked before and it also seems to come up with the error message when
i connect my mobile to my laptop too
