set assioations

I was trying to access a viedo and got pop up box :
This file does not have a program assioated with it for performing this
action. create an assioation in the set associations panel.
ok so how what when and where do I do this !!!!

Open the Control panel and in the Search box type: "extensions" (or
associations), use your language
 
Hit the start button and type "default programs" You can then select what
program should be used to open a given file type.
