I disabled the following, all of which are marked SAFE in 2000 SERVICES.PDF:

b.. Clipbook
c.. Fax
d.. Indexing (uninstalled in Add/Remove Programs)
e.. Messenger (security risk; this is not MSN Messenger)
f.. NetMeeting Remote Desktop
g.. QoS RSVP
h.. Remote Registry Service
i.. Routing and Remote Access (it was already disabled)
j.. Smart Card
k.. Smart Card Helper
l.. Telnet
m.. UPS
n.. Windows Time
Later I disabled the following, considered OK to remove in 2000
SERVICES.PDF:
a.. IPSEC
b.. NetLogon
c.. Network DDE
d.. Network DDE DSDM
e.. Performance Logs & Alerts
f.. RPC Locator
g.. System Event Notification
h.. TCP/IP NetBIOS
Still no problems.
The 2000 SERVICES.PDF final candidates for disabling are:
a.. Distributed Link Tracking Network
b.. Distributed Transaction Coordinator
c.. Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
d.. NT LM Security Support Provider
e.. Portable Media Serial Number
