Services.exe memory hog

I know this is a common problem but I can't find anything specific to
my issue with it. When I start a particular service (foo.exe) I
(sometimes) get the usual problem of services.exe using loads of
memory. This happens immediately, as opposed to the gradual bloat
mentioned by others. Foo.exe seems perfectly fine and claims its
normal amount of memory. As the problems with services.exe seems to be
quite a common one I am hesitant to blame foo.exe
The machine in question is a Windows Server 2000 with SP2
Hope someone can help :)

Upgrade to SP4? I really have no idea and the two 2k boxes here are SP4 and
that doesn't SEEM to be a problem here though it might be and I just never
noticed. If you don't get the answer you want then try the 2k groups as this
is an XP group. Besides, there's some killer 2k gurus in those groups.

Open OE > Tools > Accounts > Add > News > msnews.microsoft.com > follow the
wizard with a fake name and fake email address then add the newsgroups that
fit your question best.
