hi,
The motherboard on our pc has recently blown and we had it repaired. The
problem is that the computer was wiped. The servicers (A&R) backed up all of
our old data and it is on our computer. I have reinstalled all of the
software but when i go into outlook(2003) all of our messages and contacts
aren't there. I cant import anything nor can i open the old files of outlook.
We have bigpond, so i can view new messages on the bigpond site. how do i
restore the old messages and contacts?
Thanks

You will need to restore your Personal Folders File from the backup.
Search the backup for *.PST files, and if you find more than one, the
largest is most likely your old Personal Folders File.

Copy it to any location you wish on your restored computer, make sure
that it is not read-only (check Properties), then open it with Outlook.

Do not use Import for this task, as Outlook will unfavorably rearrange
data, and you may even lose some information.
