Help! I updated my HP Paviliion notebook computer (Windows XP) with Service
Pack 1 and restarted the computer. Now I can't access the internet with it.
What do I do?

check your firewall settings to start with
what errors or symptons do you get ?

I hate updating. Something always gets changed without my knowledge, and
then I don't know how to put it back. Yep, it was the firewall all right.
Fixed that, thank you.

Next . . . Used to be when I accessed the internet (before SP1 update),
Internet Explorer would automatically start. Now it doesn't until I click
on it. It's not a big deal, but it got changed, darn it. Do you know how
to fix that?

"Kelly Cotter"

how are you connected to the "net" dialup, dsl or adsl

Dial up, same as always. Nothing's changed there.

in IE goto tools/connections/ pick your connection and tick always dial my
default connection and when you open IE it will auto dial
set OE to use the same connection
