Where can I order or how can I get Windows xp service pack 2 on CD?
My dialup is slow!
Thanks in advance.
BoB.

It appears that is the Release version.

Thanks for the link.

eventually, you should be able to get it here:

I am curious, is this service pack SP2:
WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe

It was downloaded from the following site:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...0-73cf11fdcdf8/WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe

I ask as it was offered on a tech site and the person who posted it is
a respected member (the moderator).

However, it's a version meant for IT departments for network installation -
not necessarily appropriate for single computer, home users. Here's the
toplevel link:

Perhaps, but it is no different once installed than the Express
Installation or from Windows Update.
This version is also great if you want to burn SP-2 to CD for future
use or helping family and friend install the Service Pack.

Which is exactly what I did. I have it on a CD-ROM along with several
Knowledge Base files in MHT format.

I have read that this version is OK to use on single computers. The
caveat on MS' web site is aimed at pointing users towards smaller
downloads.

So, now I have the service pack, but I will hold-off for a few more
days... just to read more about the different escapades. I remember
all of the fuss about SP1. I had no problems whatsoever going from
"gold" to SP1. I hope that from SP1 to SP2 will be as painless ;-)
