Microsoft Service Packs are free. The size varies. The XP Service Pack 2 was
around 260 MB for the entire download.

how big is the usually service packs size?
ans is it FREE!!!!!!!!!!?

After spending several hundred dollars on the OS you're worried about the
cost of the SP which probably won't be available for the best part of a
year?

XP SP2 was ~260MB in size, I believe for the full download. But, it really
does depend on the fixes it has... It could be as small at 100MB.

And yes they are free.

Vista service pack is probably going to be released later this year.

Hey, he's probably planning a corporate roll-out and wants to make sure he
factors in the right budget for updates\Service packs. it will be a like a
big bonus when they get those updates for free. He'll be like that genius in
the commercials, who switched all their shipping to Fedex.

Damn. I've never considered making a product work to be a "big bonus".
