There is a machine under my keep that has recently had SP4
installed on it. The Iomega atapi zip 250 works
effectively in Windows but the the One Step backup program
has suffered an embolism or something. It requires each
disk to be formatted before executing the backup. The one
step backup is handy in that it compresses tagged files
onto a single zip250 cartridge, for the purpose of offsite
storage. Subsequent downloads of ioware haven't helped...
Windows backup doesn't appear to compress data... Service
pack data wasn't archived so to fix this requires a
reinstall of... everything... outside of ripping the P.O.S.
zip drive out and replacing it with a pullout HDD, I'm out
of ideas. any suggestions?

First question - have you checked the Iomega website to see if this is a
known problem, and if so, if they have a workaround?
