Service Pack II Printing Problems

I have an HP LaserJet 5 shared on an XP Pro workstation. All Service Pack I
machines can maintain a connection. Service Pack II machines lose their
connection when there haven't been any print jobs for a few minutes. The
problem has been temporarily solved by reverting to Windows 98 on the printer
workstation. Any suggestions?

Barb-
I have a HP LaserJet 6 and am now having the same problem with workstations
loosing connection to the shared printer. The error message is "printer
spooler service is not running". It all started when I installed Windows XP
SP 2.

Did you get any solution to the problem? It looks like nobody has the answer.
