I updated MSOffice with the 3/30 SP3 and am wondering if
affects existing documents (including making changes on
those documents now) or only new documents created after
installing the SP3? I use Word 2002.
TIA
Regina

Good Morning Steve:
I'm trying to find "stability" with paragraph numbering.
I have been using ShaunaKelly's directions successfully
for many documents but suddenly, the actual number of the
paragraph is not appearing on the document. It is
assigned to the correct heading (linked to correct level)
and even appears in the TOC so I hoped that updating
Office with the SP3 would help with this odd issue. I
posted on the boards 2x and didn't get a reply so I
figured it was a bug or not fixable.
Have you ever heard of this before?
thanks,
Regina

G'day "Regina" <[email protected]>,

Well, I have heard of bizzaro problems with numbers yes :-) I'd check
the settings behind Font button in the B&N dialog first to make sure
its not either hidden nor white.

Failing that, I'd check out the List Template behind it from VBA for
strange settings. If all that passes ok, then its time to:

Unlink the old list template from the style: set the ListTemplate to
have an attached style of null

define a new List Template, attach it to the style

Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Q on the the document
