In sending an email I get a reported error (0x8004210B) or
(0x800CCC60)which Comcast says is a service pack problem.
I went to the microsoft site where I've successfully
downloaded Office XPSP3 from microsoft and when I'm asked
to install I reply yes and agree to the installation
contract. It starts to install and almost immediately a
window pops up and says "The expected version of the
product was not found on your system." Yet I've got the
icon on my desktop! What's going on? Help?

Do you have a final version of Office XP? That is what that service pack is
for.
What program do you use for email? Outlook express is not part of Office,
outlook is.

You're posting in the wrong group for a start. Please repost to
microsoft.public.officeupdate. This group is for general issues with the
WindowsXP operating system.

make sure you chose the SP3 (16 MB or so) several items down, and *not*
the 23 MB SP for MUI systems at the top
