Hi. I have just downloaded SP2. Unfortunately the properties on all my
folders and the sharing and security are unavailable.(When you right click on
properties on a folder, nothing happens) I am an administrator so I'm
completely confused. Its probably something stupid. I really dont want to
uninstall SP2 again. I uninstalled SP2 last week because of this problem and
hoped it wouldn't happen again when I reinstalled it. Unfortunately the same
has happened again. Your help would be appreciated

Reset the permissions for your user name. If you do not know how to do this,
post another message.

Can you use another folder to work?
You may backup your files prior to SP2 installation.
After done, copy your files back in a new folder.
How about just put a folder with your files on the desktop?

Hi. I have just created a new user account but the folder properties were
still unavailable. Many thanks for your reply

Can you just don't use the function, if is not bother you much.
Because it is not really a big problem, as a user, who care about it?
Don't let this bit you down, whatever no computer is perfect.
Windows needs your support.

I have the same problem & I'm waiting for Microsoft to get back to me with a
fix. However if you need to access the right click menu for your files use
Internet Explore instead of Windows Explorer. Just put C:\ into the address
bar.
