Service Pack 2 Needs Service

I have windows Xp Pro on a laptop.I have downloaded the latest hotfixes from
windowsupdate website.I also had installed SP2.
When eventually after several days and hours it finished i have the
following problems.
1.Somehow i do Know how my IIS stopped working
2.When i'm trying to run Add/remove windows components, so i can unistall
IIS and install it again ,i get a messagebox which says "Another copy of the
setup program is using etc .......".And the add / remove windows components
window does not open.
3.I cannot for some reason stop / start IIS service
4.When i doubleclicked in the control panel the system icon it doesn't open.

What should i do???ANY IDEAS??Do i need to uninstall SP2?? Is there any
hotfix ???

I am very dissapointed with this situation because if i knew all these
problems i would never have installed XP on my laptop or SP2.Linux maybe but
not this moving bug.

Please notice that the firewall which is provided with SP2 is disabled.I
have although Norton Internet Secutity and Antivirus 2004 Professional on my
laptop.Also is running Spybot.

Any help will be appreciated.
