Howdy:
Could some one please tell me how to find out if a version of WinXP
does or does not have the SP2 installed or not? I'm not sure when the
'puter was purchased and don't know if SP2 was added later or if it
might have come with the OS at the time.

Thankzzzz!

Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties".

It will list the OS and Service Pack level under "System".

It also can be obtained from the Registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

under...
CSDVersion

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. It should state "Service
Pack 2" on the General tab.

If SP2 is installed, you can probably tell whether it was part of the
original installation, or added as an update. If the latter, there would
normally be a folder called C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles, with a subfolder
called I386.
