Running a new install of XP Pro on home, single PC- NOT a network. Had some trouble accessing programs under other User profiles following install of office 2000 Pro. I mistakenly chose to set up Outlook with 'workgroup" settings, rather than "Internet mail only". Got that worked out, but I may have deleted an incorrect register key in my foolhardy attempt to completely clear out registry of links to Outlook to enable a clean install of Office. Problem is that now, when logged in as any user (including administrator), I get the Server error message when attempting access to "Member of" tab in Computer Management (under Local users and Groups, Users, then any name in right hand panel. How can I start this apparently needed Service again? Thanks

Corkykat;
I have File and Print sharing disabled as I, too use a stand alone
machine. So, the Server Service does NOT appear in services.msc.

[If you disable File and Print sharing, the Server Service may disappear.
Just enable File and Print sharing again and the Server Service will return.]

It worked Wes! Thanks. I needed to reinstall File and Printer Sharing under my network connection, then I just unchecked it. Thanks again for the quick reply.
