Hi group,
Don't know if this is the right group, if not please tell me so.

Here's my problem, I'm trying to connect to a WinXP Pro PC via the old \\
"command" and I a small user password window apperas. The problem is that it
won't let change the user it suggests me. Always Guest.

What is going on, is it a new restriction in XP, how am I suppoused to
connect as the administrator for example.

TIA,
Sebastián

If you'd like to connect as administrator, type Administrator in name and
your admin password.
If you see welcome screan instead, press Ctrl+Alt+Del TWICE.

The thing is that I can't change the user name cause it's all gray, it's
like I HAVE to connect with the guest user.

I don't know if that's waht you mean as a welcome screen...

Thanx for your quick answer tho...

Using simple file sharing on the XP Pro machine? If yes, try turning it
off: Folder Options> View> Use Simple File Sharing (recommended). Uncheck
the box. Simple File Sharing uses the Guest user group for authentication.
Turning it off will make other options for remote logon and sharing
available.

I'll try that...
thanx Sharon
