The brief version is that I want to either:
(a) create a phony address (i.e. \\SERVER\FolderA\) so that a Win XP
workstation thinks it is a valid address
(b) be able to set a "server" alias for some valid server that is already
available
or (c) be able to use something like //server/Program Files/Microsoft Offica/
For example
In MS-Access we have links to tables in a database located at
\\server\foldera\folderb\mydatabase.mdb, but "server" is only available in
our test lab -- not from our normal desktops. If I do development work, I
can't link my database to "server" -- which is a bummer!
Thank you very much.
