Serious problem editing

I can load a movie maker file with a partial movie in it, but when I try to edit the movie it closes. I don't even get the chance to do anything. It closes whenever I click on anything in the story board. I can't even play it. Anything I try to do the program closes. I tried re-installing it twice with Movie Maker 2.0, but it doesn't do anything. I NEED HELP PLEASE.

On the info provided there could be more than one fault here. One of the
easiest to fix is what we call a codec issue. These are small "black box"
programs that handle amongst other things the display of video.....just
about all video type programs use them.

I hae written a simple program that will search out these files no matter
where they are and give you the ability to rename them. After renaming them
you can try Moviemaker. Whether or not the program helps you out, if you
have renamed and codec you must run my program again to restore the files
to their original names. Version 1.1 is now available for download. Please
be sure to read the notes on the download page before you use it.
