Sent Items

I have a problem that I'm finding difficult to troubleshoot. I'm using
Outlook 2003 with an IMAP account and some of my e-mail has not been making
it to the addressee. The item in the inbox shows that the e-mail has been
replied to or forwarded and it appears to go through the outbox normally, but
it's not showing up in the sent items and the recipient is not receiving the
message. I have also checked both the outbox and drafts folder and their is
no evidence of the message. I've also performed a desktop search with no
luck--there's no sign of the message anywhere. Some messages are processed
as advertised. Any ideas?

Enable diagnostic logging and see what's happening between the client and
server.
