I have a a number of PCs running Office '97 with Outlook 2003 on Windows XP
Pro but only one of them will not allow sending an email from within word or
excel.
When selecting "SendTo : Mail recipient" from the File menu within Word or
Excel an email opens with the file attached. It allows me to enter a "To:"
address but when I click send nothing happens.

Outlook 2003 seems to work just fine in all other respects so perhaps its an
Office '97 problem??

Does anyone know what might be the cause of this problem.

Thanks for any help,
Fred

The version mismatch between Office and Outlook is the cause of this.
Versions must match for office automation to work.

After furious head scratching, Fred asked:

Thanks Milly, but I have more than 10 PCs here all runniong the same
versions of windows XP Pro, Outlook 2003, and Office '97 and they all work
fine except for one so it obviously does work for different versions of
office and outlook.
