Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm using Outlook 2003. For the past couple of days, Outlook reports
"Sending message 1 of 1" whenever I do a Send/Receive, even though I
am not sending any email. It keeps going until I close the program. I
have no messages in my outbox. I've done a virus scan and NAV isn't
reporting anything.

Thanks again for any suggestions.

Do you have Outlook configured to automatically reply to read receipts?
Do you have it configured to prompt you, it prompted, and you said Yes
to sending a reply? If so, you won't see read receipts in your Outbox
(they are a special item that remains hidden which, in my opinion, was a
really stupid decision by Microsoft).

The only way that I've heard of getting rid of a read receipt stuck in
the Outbox is to use a tool to dig into Outlook to remove the hidden
item. See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm and
http://www.dimastr.com/outspy/.

Thank you very, very much.

I have no idea what I did, but I downloaded OutlookSpy, followed the
directions, and fixed the problem.

I am in awe of your knowing this.

Thanks again.
