I find that after I compose an email and press SEND, about 50% of the time it ends up in the Outbox under a category called DATE: NONE and it will not send. I frequently have to copy and paste it into a new email, often several times, before it will send. [Outlook 2003, XP] Suggestions? Thank you.

When you find an item in the Outbox like that, instead of copying it, open
it and click Send again. Chances are you edited it without resending.

Thank you Sue. However, this doesn't work. I have tried hundreds of combinations: reopening, saving, editing, renetering the address, and so on with no luck. If you have further suggestions, I am open to anything! Thank you

What type of account are you sending with? If you open the message, and
click Options, what do you see as the folder for saving sent items? If you
then click Send, what happens?

Sue

I have recently encountered exactly the same problem. I have tried a range of things, I have even completely re-installed Office 2003.

I cannot get send messages off the date =none category and therefore they do not send. As Charlie Brown pointed out in another contribution on this topic if I forward the mail it gets given a date and then sends. If however I re-open the forward and save it, it too becomes date = none.

I installed Norton Internet Security [Pro] last weekend and the problem started this week so there may be a correlation.

Any help appreciated.

Malcolm
