sending email through AOL Broadband useing Outlook 2003

When sending email using Outlook but routing it via a AOL Broadband Imap
connection, I get an error message that says "operation times out. waiting
for response from the sending SMTP server." The message goes on to say I
should contact my ISP provider. I have called AOL and Dell but they have no
answers. I have not called Microsoft yet and instead have opted to try this
discussion site to see get a helpful answer. Any suggestions?

1) Increase your server timeout value on the Advanced tab of your account
properties pages and 2) disable scanning of outgoing mail with a an
antivirus program.
