When I send Excel attachments (from Outlook) to a Lotus
Notes user, the recipient sees the file as win.dat and
cannot open it. I have tried "zipping" the file, but it
only works about half the time.
More background if it is helpful:
-I am using Windows/Office/Outlook 2K
-Recipient is using Windows/Office 2K and unknown version
of Lotus Notes
-This error has occurred when:
1. I send Excel to client#1
2. My coworker sends Excel to client#2 (client2 is a
different company than client1)
-We have been successful when zipping Word documents.
-When Word is not zipped, it also goes through as win.dat
-Both myself and my coworker are able to send unzipped
Excel attachments to other people in the Lotus users
offices without any problem.
-Other coworkers in my office are able to send the same
attachments to these clients without any problem.
That's all I can think of. We appreciate any help.
