Hello,

Does anyone know how to send a message or somehow communicate over a
windows network? I can't use MSN, or anything on the web.
Please help!

Rob

Hi Rob,

Click start/run, type cmd and click ok. From the prompt, run:

net send /?

Before SP2 package, we could use WINCHAT which is include in Windows,
but seem not to be functional anymore.

Now you can use net send command (type : net send /? in a command line
to have the syntax) but you have to activate messenger service on all
your network (use service.msc)

You can also use alternate messengers like realpopup (www.realpopup.it)
which is all windows compliant and net send compliant too.

You can do this at a command prompt with the Net Send command, or, somewhat
more easily in a GUI with any of several third-party programs available. I
use a little freeware app called Nethail.
