Is there no way to get the Send To list to sort by Name? This is really
annoying to me after having it sorted in Win98 all those year.

Please help!

TIA!

Are you talking about Outlook? Outlook Express? Another
mail client? Which version? Try reposting in the correct
newsgroup!

I think he's talking about the "Send To" list appears in the right-click
file menu.

It won't sort alphabetically, and in trying to make it sort, I sent one
file to Skype and another to Adobe Reader.

It was quite comical, as I frantically chased windows around trying to
get them to close and then to shut off Skype before it
sent...something...to someone.

<still laughing>

You have zero privacy [on the Internet] anyway.
Get over it.

It should sort the items in the SendTo folder but not the removable
drives. XP is different from Win98 in that the removable drives do not
need a shortcut in the SendTo folder so it seems there is no way to
sort them in with the others.
Is it only the removable drives at the bottom of the Send To list that
concerns you?

No, I am talking about the Send to Menu when you right click on an item and
select Send To.

Win98 always sorted this list and I want it back :((

Thanks

Alan,

XP does not sort the right click Send To menu for some reason and it is
very annoying. Win 98se did and I miss it.

Has anyone mentioned this to MS? Gosh, there has to be a way.

It sorts mine apart from the removable drives.

You didn't answer my question.

Are all the shortcuts in the "normal" SendTo folder?
To get there, use Start-Run-SENDTO

In Docs & Settings> "YourUsernameHere", click Tools>FolderOptions>View.
Click the button for Show Hidden Files and Folders. OK.
Open the hidden Send To folder.
Click View, go down to Arrange Icons by, click Name.
Entries will become alphabetized.
[At least on my xp home. May require Explorer or Windows restart.]
Removable media drive group (alphabetized) follows fixed drive group entries.

Alan,

The entire right-click Send To list is not alphabetized, not just certain
items.

All the shortcuts are in the Start-Run-SendTo Folder. In Windows Explorer,
they are alphabetized, but when I right-click on a filename, then select
Send To, the list that appears is not alphabetized.

Thanks

Tom

They are sorted in Windows Explorer, just not on the right-click and select
Send To selection.

Click the button for Show Hidden Files and Folders. OK.
Open the hidden Send To folder.
Click View, go down to Arrange Icons by, click Name.
