We have been using the "send to - mail recipient" command to reduce photo
sizes before emailing them. Worked fine until today, the day after we did a
major automatic update.
My email client is Thunderbird.
Trying to use "send to" now results in the message:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the
default mail client"
Funny, Thunderbird could do it fine last week!!

It sounds like the system update broke Thunderbird's capability. You might
want to pursue a patch with the makers of Thunderbird or follow the
suggestion to use Outlook.

That's been happening frequently; perhaps it was caused by a Windows
update. Here's what I did when it just happened to me:

Send To Mail Recipient option does nothing
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/sendtomail.htm

After running the mentioned command, open Start Menu, "Set Program
Access and Defaults", and select Thunderbird as your default email program.

Is MS Office (and/or Outlook) 2003 installed?

Have you re-asserted Tbird as your default for Email in Set Program Access
and Defaults?
