send/receive problem

I posted this and did not see it appear, so am trying again. Apologies if it
ends up on the list twice.

I'm having a problem with Outlook XP, 2002 edition running on a new HP
Pavilion with broadband access through our cable company. We've checked the
cable company and the problem does not lie there.

When I hit send/receive, sometimes everything is sent fine. But then -
especially during a reply - the status will show 100% complete although it is
still processing. Then it will try processing again and say 66%, then 33%
and so on. The only way to send the message at this point is to reboot
completely. But even so, in the new session, eventually the problem will
reappear.

This problem is unrelated to file size, as I've replicated it with emails
that say only "test".

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Set your send/receive interval to at least 10 minutes. It sounds like it is
stepping on itself as it is too short to complete before attempting a new
send/receive cycle.

I had a very similar problem. I did a clean boot (instructions are on MS
Website) and I turned down the Anti Spam functionality in my Norton and I
have been problem free.

Also, make sure your outgoing mail server with authenticate. I had to ask
my DSL Provider to opt me out of a Policy known as "Port 25 Filtering" It
is an anti spam initiative.
