Send&Receive button not working

Hi
I have read and tried many things. I have no anti-virus/spyware running. My
windows mail on my vista machine simply does not send/receive until you close
and re-open the program.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties.
If there's no check mark in the box before Include this account when
receiving mail or synchronizing, click on this box and then Apply.
Click on OK and then Close.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Send. If there's no check mark in
the box before Send messages immediately, click on this box and then
Apply. Click on OK.

Done this thanks, but no luck.
It receives (window pops up - receiving) until I send a message, then it
stays in the outbox until I exit the application, only then will it ask to be
sent. When I click on the send and receive button, nothing happens, no popup
saying sending/receiving...

No, there used to be, but I found an app to delete them, and I also
downloaded the update from MS. Just as soon as I send a message, the send and
receive stop working until I restart Windows Mail. When it closes, it ask if
it should send the messages, and the are then sent successfully.

Which antivirus are you running? As a test, uninstall it, then try
sending.
