When I click Send/Receive, it sends and receives fine, but the status box no
longer shows up. I couldn't find a display option that turns that on/off.
Thanks

I suggest you try an Outlook newsgroup. Remember
to state if you use Outloo or Outlook Express, and
which version.

RIGHT click on task bar. Customize. Tools. Slide the Send and Receive up
to the task bar.

That's not the prob: the send/receive is already on the taskbar. The problem
is after I click on it, no status shows up anyomore (how many messages are
being received, etc.)

Thanks

If its outlook go to tools > send/receive > send/receive settings > show
progress > then uncheckmark the box that says Dont show this dialog box...

That should do it

It is Outlook 2000. However, I do not have send/receive settings under
send/receive... The funny thing is, it just started doing this, and I don't
think anyone else who uses this computer would have changed anything.

Taken from a google groups response to the same problem

You have to be quick but when you do a Send/Receive you get a couple of
twirlies in the lower right corner of Outlook click on these and you can
re-enable to display

I do not have a outlook 2000 to tinker with but I would imagine that you
probably accidentally clicked the checkmark box that says to hide that dialog
box.

Good Luck
