Craig Pfaff

Hi,

I've got a network with about 18 w/s, I'm having an issue with two of them,
one is XP Pro with Outlook 2003,
the other is W2K with Outlook XP, the problem I'm having is they are set to
send and receive email every few minutes, the problem is with the
send/receive setup they for some reason are having problems accessing the
POP3 server, now if I click on the send/receive button it goes with no
problem, no one else is having this problem and most of them are setup the
same way.
Doesn't seem like enough information, but is there some parameter I need to
change?

Thanks Craig

Didn't you already port this question? Ask once and wait for an answer.

Hi Craig,

I am not quite clear about the problem. My current understanding of this
issue is:

When schedule a send/receive action for an email account, the client will
encounter error message. If use Send/Receive button, this email account
would work properly.

If this is the issue, in order to isolate whether the problem is caused by
Outlook or the incorrect configuration of this email account, please help
to collect the following information:

1. Please capture a screenshot on the error message and then send to me at
(e-mail address removed). You effort will be appreciated.

2. Create a new Outlook profile, add the problematic email account to it,
and then check the issue again. What's the result? To do so, please refer
to:

OL2002: How to Create a New E-mail Profile for Outlook
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=287072

3. Verify the Outlook Send/Receive group settings. To configure a
Send/Receive group:

-- Start up Outlook
-- Select Tools/Options/Mail Setup/"Send/Receive"

A Send/Receive group is a single operation unit that could contain multiple
email accounts. We can schedule the Send/Receive action for it, and decide
whether to include it in Send/Receive button in Outlook. So if the
problematic Send/Receive group is not included in Send/Receive button
(Press F9), you would not see the error message. Therefore, please verify
the Send/Receive group settings to see if the problem is caused by an
incorrect email account settings.

Hope the information helps.

Pat Cai

Hi Craig,

I am glad to hear that the problem has been fixed. For such network
connection problems, I think we could get some clues from the Outook error
message. If you have any other questions or concerns in future, please do
not hesitate to contact us. It is always our pleasure to be of assistance.

Have a nice day!
