OK--I have read all the posts regarding the problem with the send email progress dialog bo
popping up all the time. I have tried all the work arounds sugested and they don't fix th
problem. I also tried the MSKB article of trying to use the F9 key and it didn't work either

Are there any other workarounds coming from MS on this annoying problem? Is this a SP3 issue

I have checked all my outlook settings and they all seem to be correct and I have the bo
checked to hide the popup dialog. I have the staus bar on in Outlook. I have not added an
programming to my system except for SP3

I am running XP Home edition with SP1 on a 4 month old Compaq S6000. I bought Office X
which includes Outlook 2002 with SP3 installed. I have had the Office XP for about a year o
maybe longer--so its not a recent installation

I tried restoring the system back before SP3 and the dialog box still pops up.
don't know if I understand what mail mode refers to, but I connect to my ISP through
broadband connection and the outgoing mail is SMTP

Hmm--my car is silver if that makes any difference. With a V-6 engine......

Thanks for the response. Yes--this is what I had referred to when I said the F
key in my original post. I searched through the posts for a couple days an
had seen this potential fix

Also tried unchecking the dialog pop up, rebooting and then checking the "do no
show" box and then rebooting again. I also tried toggling the little thumb ico
in the lower right corner of the dialog box as one post suggested

Please, if I have missed one--I am all ears.

No--I have not done that. By a profile, do you mean as in create what in affect woul
be a second person receiving mail on Outlook

What would be the correct way to create a profile?

Well--I don't want to get too optimistic, but I created another profile according to the MSK
article and the popup box does not stay "popped" up. I occasionally see it for a second o
so during some automatic send and receives, but it goes away quickly on its own

Its not visible long enough for me to click the box that says don't show the dialog box...lo

Much better---thank you.

Well--I was too optimistic--the pop up box has returned

I did try something else and it seems to be working so far---has there been any reported issue
with using outlook 2002 to not only get POP3 mail but also hotmail using the HTTP protocol

I wasn't sure if you could have multiple accounts using different protocols---but I removed th
hotmail HTTP account and I haven"t seen that darn little pop up box all day

We'll see
