I have not been able to get Outlook 2002 to send and
receive emails when first starting the program. After
using f9 key the progam will poll for emails as program.
I am using Norton Internet Security with a firewall and I
am not sure if this stoping the send and receive on start
up.

Do you have the option to poll on startup?

Tools -> Send and Receive Settings -> Define Send and Receive Groups, enable
the option to schedule a mail poll every N minutes. This will perform a
mail poll at zero minutes (i.e., after Outlook loads) and every N minutes
thereafter.

Also, if you open the Tools -> Send and Receive Settings -> Show Progress
dialog (before you hit F9), is the progress dialog blank (i.e., no poll has
been yet performed) or does it show errors?
