It's already 1! (Note I've just installed SP2?) Although it's not any
faster since.
This reg tweak may help. Doesnt stop using all you memory for caching,
but
should make your system more responsive when you copy those files.
open registry editor
goto [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\
Memory Management]
Look for "DisablePagingExecutive" change is value to 1 (Note Hex 1 = Dec
1)
0 is the default setting
1 stops the core of windows from being paged to disc
I have a setup where PC 2 regularly copies a large quantity of files
from
PC 1 (for backup). It's flushing out the disk cache on PC 1 and making
other functions sluggish. Is there any way to tell PC 1 not to cache
files
that are requested over the network?
