selecting the option of saving or opening (on a file)

hi, I have a little problem with my internet
explorer....When i want to download a file- it usually
gives me the option of saving it or opening it. This week
it has been automaticly selecting open when i want to
save it. I really need to fix this to load files. Thank
You

MY COMPUTER -> TOOLS -> FOLDER OPTIONS -> FILE TYPES

Find the file type you want and click on it
Click on ADVANCE
Make sure there is a check mark in the box that reads
"Confirm open after download"

That should cause the dialog box to pop up everytime you download a file of
that type.
