Mr. Goldgar. I figured out from my last post which you was very helpful on
how To Hyperlink all my fields at once...I thought you should have feed back
on how I used the code and got it to work. Just fooling around I created a
Macro that run the command line to open winamp.exe and then I used your code
and pasted in after I open winamp. It worked great. Q up the songs in the
playlist just perfect. That's what I was missing. However, I had to select
all the mp3's in my list box and then hit the button that I created to
execute the code that you answered on this post. I thought I would post the
question to "selecting all records at one in list box set to simple" hopeing
you would reply. Well you didnt let me down.
HERE IS THE BIG PICTURE!
I have about 5,000 MP3's that I wanted to catalogue. So I used a function
that would go out and retrieve the path to all my MP3's and write the results
to a table. Once that was done then the I just used some functions that
would break down the path for example: N:\MPS\Country\Tobey Keith\Beer for my
horses.mp3 in my querry. I kept the same format for all my MP3's on my hard
drive. Country in this case being the Class, Tobey Keith being the artist,
and the Beer for my horses as the song title. I used another function to
strip the .MP3 so My querries looked pretty Organized.
So I used alot of examples from the MVP's to achieve my goals. I just had
to apply them to my appliacation.
Final Outcome: You can actually Catalogue, Search, and play your MP3's from
an access data base which I have seen alot of postings for. I also applied
alot of these examples to my E-book collection of over 1500 E-books.
BOTTOM LINE: I am very greatful to you guys (gals) that contribute to this
newsgroup. I have been using Access since ver 2.0 and even had the Access
Developers Toolking (ADT) back when. I have always been strugling in writing
modules and learning Syntax. By reading the postings and visiting the
variouse links that are suggested by most of the subject master experts, it
has given me a much broader understanding on VBA code in MS Access and has
opened a whole new world to development. Thanks guys and gals.
A copy of the database (application) which was developed from the examples
provided by the MVP's is available by E-mailing me at
