There are internal checks for consistency, do you mean for keys &
values that are not valid (Registry Cleaners) ? If so, that's a touchy
subject here. There are lots of advocates of Registry Cleaning. It is
not a perfected technology and there is risk of damaging XP if done
badly. I don't recommend "Automated" cleaners, but if I had to pick
one, it would probably be RegSeeker. Never use one, unless you
have your system 100% backed up (Imaged). It might help if you
gave us more details on what you consider OK for Registry status.
W98 came with SCANREG. You could run it to test the Registry. During boot-up
it ran automaticly and if it found a bad registry the user got the option to
restore a back-up. Why doesn't Wxp have that?
