The OP has gotten bum info that suggests that superfetch can be enabled on

I turn off prefetch(set to 2), always did, always will.
It has never made anything faster being on or anything slower being set to
2.
I have a 2gig of ram(PC26400), AMD 2.6GHz cpu clocked to 2.8, no fancy XP
colors or other settings that just make it look nice.
No sliding, no gliding, no bright blue....
no fading in and out...........
and my setup is plenty fast enough for what I need.
I don't play games, just use the pc for graphics and music.
So there it is...............

No such beast in XP.

XP Superfetch has been written about all over the net since XP came out.
A lot of idiots really think they have it because they changed prefetch
setting to 4.
