With the Security center and the defender what kind of anti virus should I
have. McAfee's offers the 8 in 1 security sweet but do I need all that?

You need an anti virus.
AVG do a free version, but I prefer their commercial anti malware product
with is anti virus/spyware.
I use that alongside Defender.
