I need to know how to keep my Son from downloading things
on my computer. I put my self as owner and keep on
changing my password. I heard there is some kind of start
up disk for lost passwords. Do you think that is how he
keeps on getting on. He has also put some network thing
on here too. Help!!!!!

That is possible but that only way you could probably keep him from
downloading is to keep him away from your computer.

It seems like he is more computer savvy than you so anything you do, he
may be able to get around.

You may want to be more specific about the 'network thing'. There are a
lot of things he could have installed (keyloggers) that could be giving
him the password (if that's the problem).

Just stopping him from downloading, I think, may be impossible unless
you remove the internet connection.

Get a big sledge hammer and slam the keyboard when he is on it. That way he
will know you are serious.

Did you password protect the hidden administrator account? By default the
password for this hidden account is blank. If he knows how to get into it
then he could log in as admin and have full control of the computer.
Password protect the hidden admin account also. If he's using a password
reset disk, then you could put a bios password in as well. Post back if you
need help with that.
But really the best thing to do is give him a swift kick in the a$$. If he
doesn't follow the computer rules, discipline him until he understands.
Computers are not toys, they are tools.
